Abundant Thanks - A Summer Vignette

Summer 2022 was one to remember! We were overjoyed to connect in new ways, focusing on relational justice and communal care.  This blog is a gratitude for the walking with land, people and causes that invite us deeper into relationship, listening and our whole-est hearts.

We share vignettes of weaving gratitude, story and remembering

June WholeHeart Community Gathering

Gratitude for laughter and listening.

Bring-your-own brownies, olives and oud.

Our stories and questions draw us closer to each other.

Our wonder and witnessing connect us with all things

that grow and change

South Burlington: East / West Crossing Project

Gratitude for public meetings and focus groups.

Listening to voices that often go unheard

Telling and sharing stories to build a bridge that will serve land and people better.

Braiding transportation justice into the hem of warm summer days.

Sylvania Community Services Renewing the Courage to Care

Gratitude for providing care to children and families!

Thank you for taking time to receive care too!

Small gestures of kindness create community

Creating personal touchstones to remember to listen within

ACLU VT Retreat at Knoll Farm

Gratitude for rolling hills and valleys that tell stories

of regeneration and unlearning to those who will listen.

How do we combat erasure? How do we cultivate belonging?

Is there a map? Let us map our journeys and trace the path of collective care.

“So much

already alive between us, so many blessings

threading our days like the gold of sun,

yet here I stand, holding this bounty,

begging for more.”

Excerpt from “More” by James Crews

Sterling College

Gratitude for starting the year with commitment to communal care

Creating touchstones to ground and laing the whole community as grounding

For sharing who you are, inviting authentic inquiry and weaving joy into each day

Intimacy and Presence with the Earth Community : Green Mountain Monastery

Grateful for the land holding us and offering nourishing rest and encounters

For stepping over the threshold of the shamanic journey into deep relations with earth

Releasing reliance on meals to embrace all the sensory ways that feeds us

Sleeping on the earth, resting in the shade of maples and cedar

Watching spider webs weave and unweave, stars sparkle and fade

What moments of gratitude are you carrying from this summer?

What ignites gratitude in you? We hope this sharing of practice ripples remembering and joy.

Thank you for journeying together.
