WholeHeart and Rites of Passage are excited to collaborate to offer a virtual space for listening to and through loss. Grief travels in its own way and timeframe, needing space for expression and teaching.
Join in a small circle of community to explore this essential part of the life journey. We will gather for six 90-minute sessions every other week February - April :
Sunday afternoons 1pm-2:30pm ET
February 6 & 20 / March 6 & 20 / April 3 & 17
Talking about grief is talking about love because without love, there would be no grief. Indeed, if we love, we grieve. Loss is a universal human experience. In the words of Helen Keller:
We bereaved are not alone. We belong to the largest company in all the world
— the company of those who have known suffering.
This circle is for those who are seeking a place to share openly about the experience of loss. Coming together in the face of love and loss to tell our stories, and listen deeply to each other, can be a powerful healing experience. As Rabbi Earl Grollman says:
Grief is not a disorder, a disease or a sign of weakness.
It is an emotional, physical and spiritual necessity, the price you pay for love.
The only cure for grief is to grieve.
Whether your loss was recent or a long time ago, you are welcome here. At this circle, you won’t be told to look on the bright side or count your blessings. Here, we affirm that grief is unique, can be complicated, takes many different forms, and doesn’t have a time frame.
Upholding WholeHeat’s Touchstones, we will be invited to explore the experience of grief through reflection, deep listening, art, and story.
“Grief and love are sisters, woven together from the beginning.
Their kinship reminds us that there is no love that does not contain loss
and no loss that is not a reminder of the love we carry for what we once held close.”
– Francis Weller
