Listening Circles: Living Our Learning Edges (VIRTUAL)

“Human conversation is the most ancient and easiest way to cultivate the conditions for change - personal change, community and organizational change, planetary change...  The simplest way to begin finding each other again is to start talking about what we care about.”   Margaret Wheatley

“Living on the learning edge” is more than WholeHeart’s tagline, it is an acknowledgement that we have more to learn and understand.  Coming together in small groups to explore our learning edges requires we set aside trying to present or impress - to practice listening generously to ourselves and one another.  This fall we invite you to the next level of our Listening Circles: Living Our Learning Edges.

Listening Circles are small groups that meet bi-weekly for six 90 minute sessions, beginning in early October facilitated by a trained WholeHeart facilitator.  This year, circles will hold a common focus - from elder caregiving, Courage, mid-week pausing, white identity work, and facilitation.  Committing to show up for oneself and others, we will weave the space together that is conducive to being brave and leaning into where we need to grow. Exchanging stories of lived experiences for deeper appreciation and understanding, our learning edges are explored, not polished. Relational justice is our focus - to support ways to be in deeper relationship with others, self, and place to cultivate showing up and standing with what needs attention.

  • The practice of listening has really helped me make a shift towards being more centered and has given me the ability to listen at a much deeper level. ”

  • “I love being able to take some time with a group of strangers, getting to know each other in meaningful ways, and getting to know ourselves more.”

Please join us to listen in community as a way to attune to inner knowing and collective engagement.

This fall Listening Circles are for:

Caregivers (Mondays, 10-11:30AM EST): Are you caring for family members or others? This is essential and challenging work! Take time to explore and listen to others on this same tender journey to renew your spirit to show up for the daily tending at hand with your full self.

Courage (TBD by participant schedules): Have you attended a Circle of Trust© and wish to explore how to integrate the Touchstones into your life? This circle of practice focuses on integrating Courage into our daily lives. Previous experience in a Circle of Trust© is required.

Facilitators (Fridays, 10-11:30AM EST) Facilitation can be a lonely journey. Are you holding space for others and looking for ways to explore your own leadership edges? This circle is created with you in mind.

White Identity Work (Wednesdays, 4-5:30PM EST): Are you seeking space to explore the impact of systems of oppression and your generational past and future legacies? Relational justice takes time and commitment. Inspired by the book: The Gatherings: Reimagining Indigenous-Settler Relations, we will explore the territories of identity, ancestry and legacy. - to piece together clues and lost stories that live in and around us.

‘Friday Refresh’ (Fridays, 10-11:30AM EST) Complete your week with time to pause, align and connect with others committed to listening generously. As we share our stories in a small group, we deepen our sense of well-being.

PLEASE REGISTER BY SEPT 27th to facilitate the logistics of scheduling.

Calls will begin in early October.
