“The shore is an ancient world, for as long as there has been an earth and sea, there has been a place of the meeting of land and water. Yet it is a world that keeps alive the sense of continuing creation and the relentless drive of life. Each time that I enter it, I gain some new awareness of its beauty and its deeper meanings, sensing that intricate fabric of life by which one creature is linked to another and each with its surroundings.” Rachel Carson
We are setting sail for Hurricane Island for the fifth year this July to spend time at the meeting place of stone, sea and soul. Each year, a new pattern awaits and invites us to explore the intricate fabric of our lives in this place of beauty at the pace of island time.
Are you longing for a stretch of time that is connected to tides, waves and stars? Does the sounds of the sea stir the wisdom of your soul? Would you like to realign your patterns and practices to your own natural rhythms and find inspiration to step into life connected to earth and sky? Would you like to spend time on a remote and magical island off the Maine coast? If so, come join us for a Circle of Trust® Retreat on Hurricane Island, ME to explore what is wanting to meet at the edge of your life.
Using the the framework of the Center for Courage & Renewal’s Circle of Trust®, built on the writings and teachings of educator and activist, Parker J. Palmer, we offer this island time retreat where reflection, play and purpose are a part of the elements! If you are longing for a deeper reciprocity with the natural world, please join us for this four-day Courage Earth Retreat where we will:
Pause, be still, disconnect with technology and reconnect with the rhythms of earth, self and community living.
Strengthen our capacity to ask life-opening questions, listen wholeheartedly, and share what is most meaningful.
Spend evening solo time holding our inner questions in companionship with summer island wisdom.
Explore how to live and lead out of a place of courage and wholeheartedness.
Develop a personal practice and intentional plan for stewarding what you love.
Please note Hurricane Island is a seasonal, environmentally sustainable summer community. We will be spending significant time outdoors in the wind, waves and weather. Moderate physical ability is required to navigate the island terrain.
